April is National Poetry Month
To celebrate poetry and National Poetry month, library classes have been experimenting with poetry in various forms. Kindergarten and first grade have enjoyed poems by Jack Prelutsky, Shel Silverstein, Bobbi Katz, Robert Louis Stevenson and more. 2nd graders worked with ReadWriteThink's WordMover interactive. WordMover is creating poetry with found words from either a word bank or famous works. Here are a few samples of our students' creations:
Third grade used StoryBird.
5th Grade used discarded book pages to make Blackout Poetry. Media Assistant Ms. Dillard demonstrated how to add art to blackout poems.
