Second Grade Animal Tagxedos

During this week's library classes, 2nd graders created group Tagxedo word clouds to share what they have learned in class about owls, bats and spiders. Great work second graders!

Tagxedo Time

One of our favorite go-to tech tools in the library is Tagxedo.
Tagxedo has many applications and uses for technology integration.
Ideas to inspire: 101 Ways to Use Tagxedo. 

This week our 5th graders are creating Tagxedos as the final product in their Animal Research unit. Students conducted research in class with Mrs. Felton and compiled a list of terms to describe their chosen animal. These terms are used to create an animal Tagxedo. Kindergarten Colors Tagxedo

This week our Kindergarten classes are reading The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers. They love the idea of each crayon having its own personality! Mrs. Summers' students each told their favorite crayon color to help make this Tagxedo:

Civil War Word Cloud

Ms. Ebron's class is doing a class novel study of Mary Pope Osbourne's Civil War on Sunday. In the library, this class has been listening to Patricia Polacco's book, Pink and Say as well as learning about primary sources, especially photographs from the Civil War.

To wrap up this unit, the students made a group Tagxedo word cloud related to the Civil War. The students chose the blue and gray color scheme to reflect the Union and the Confederacy and they thought the outline of the United States was a relevant shape.

2nd Grade Bat Tagxedo

Tagxedo is our web tool of choice at the moment. Now our second graders are creating word clouds! Mrs. James' class worked as a group to come up with many words describing bats and their appearance and behavior. Check out their awesome work:

The students chose the gray/black color scheme because it fit with bats.

4th Grade Book Genre Word Clouds

Fourth grade classes have been studying book genres during their library classes. To show their understanding, students worked with partners to create a Tagxedo word cloud representing a specific book genre. Here are some of the best!

5th Grade Animal Research: Digital Product

The 5th grade classes have been working on animal research for the past two weeks. This week they will demonstrate their learning with a final digital product: an animal shaped word cloud. The students will create word clouds using Tagxedo. The best examples will be published to this blog (with the students' permission).
